Entertainment
While living in the dust bowl, there was not much to do. Farmers were very isolated from the rest of the nation. However, radios connected the farmers to the rest of the world. They were able to listen to baseball games, comedies, radio shows like the Lone Ranger, national affairs like fireside chats with President Roosevelt, and could listen to commentators like Walter Winchell talk about world affairs. Besides music, radios were the one of the limited entertainment devices that these families had access to in the dust bowl.
